Introducing the 2015 Dodge Challenger

For everyone who's ever dreamed of owning a muscle car, may we present the 2015 Dodge Challenger.

The 2015 is more than the fourth-generation Challenger. It's the introduction to a new wave of enthusiasts who grew up hearing stories of drag strips, horsepower, and custom details, and now get to experience them for themselves.

A little Challenger history:

1970-1974 - The Dodge Challenger was officially introduced in the fall of '69 into a fiercely competitive segment. But Challenger came in offering more car, more performance, and more value than its counterparts. With models like the standard two-door coupe, convertible, or highly desired R/T combined with a wide range of exterior colors, features, and interior options, customers could make their Challenger their own. Engines included the 340 Six-Pack V8 with up to 290 horsepower, a 383 Magnum V8 with up to 335 horsepower, 440 Six-Pack with up to 390 horsepower, or the 426 HEMI V8 with up to 425 horsepower.

1978-1983 - The relaunched Challenger came to market in an era of rising gas prices and increased emissions standards. To help attract the mileage and eco-conscious, the Challenger sported four-cylinder efficiency.

2008-2014 - The Challenger came back to the muscle car scene with modern technology, efficient performance, and a roaring HEMI V8 engine with up to 425 horsepower. With a design inspired by the 1970 Challenger, the third-generation instantly earned respect.

2015 - The newest Challenger is what Dodge calls the "spiritual successor to the '71." It offers more technology than ever before, with an interior that nods to the Challenger roots but provides today's must-have features. Through the SRT Hellcat, Challenger becomes the most powerful and fastest muscle car ever with a 707-horsepower engine powering an NHRA-certified 10.8-second quarter-mile time.

New features for 2015 include:

  • New electronically controlled 8-speed automatic transmission improves fuel efficiency by up to 11 percent
  • Redesigned interior with oversized center console, redesigned customizable instrument cluster, and 8.4-inch touch screen
  • Retro '71-inspired styling including heritage split grille surround, LED halo lighting, larger power-bulge hood, and new split LED taillamps
